Auto Shop Brokers is a licensed, Minneapolis-based brokerage and real estate firm dedicated exclusively to the automotive industries. We work closely with independent owners, franchisors, and franchisees to sell their businesses for the best possible profit. All of our services are performed in a completely confidential manner so relationships with customers, vendors, and employees remain stable.

We also represent buyers looking for an auto business or automotive franchise. Working together to determine goals and purchasing power, Auto Shop Brokers helps buyers through every step of the process, including facilitating contracts and exploring financing options.

Our Story

Born in Alaska and raised in California, Auto Shop Brokers’ founder and Broker Aaron Roesner bought his first automotive shop when he was 19 years old:

“I started off in a very small town. I borrowed $26,000 to purchase my first shop. It was a struggling 8-bay facility, and yes, the $26,000 included the real estate! There were no hoists and I spent the first year working on a creeper.

After two years I sold the business and realized the value in increasing revenue and profits and the incredible effect this had on sale price.”

He attended the University of South Dakota, where he focused on business law. In 2001 he began working with a local 26 location automotive group, specializing in purchasing, rebranding, and selling failing locations. Since then he has owned numerous auto repair businesses, residential construction companies, and other privately held businesses, which he successfully sold for profit.

In the past 15 years Aaron has gained invaluable knowledge regarding the complexities of business turnaround, valuation, and mergers and acquisitions and is happy to share his knowledge with clients. Aaron continues to use his vast network of buyers and sellers to allow his clients to achieve their goals.
